No, clearly some girls don't know, as you say "it." ONE IN FOUR COLLEGE AGED WOMEN IS THE SURVIVOR OF A COMPLETED OR ATTEMPTED RAPE! Date rape is a huge problem on college campuses, most of which are facilitated by alcohol. Your notion that women believe that most men aged 18-22 are attempting to get them drunk so that the men can have sex with them seems highly unlikely when basic statistics are considered. The notion that it is perfectly acceptable or inherent for most men to buy women drinks to get them to perform sexually is flawed and insulting to men who treat women fairly, respectfully, and lovingly.

I obviously can't speak for the young man who wrote the article, but I didn't get any anti-sex vibe from the opinion. Girls and guys going around looking to hook up with people isn't the problem. The fantasy that some men have of taking advantage of a drunk woman is the problem. The idea that some parts of women's lives are ruined from these unfair and traumatizing experiences is the problem. GGW promotes this fantasy and people find that unacceptable. Furthermore, your statement reeks of the double standard (the false belief that ALL men are ALWAYS sexual and only a small portion of girls( but not the "good girls" as you say) can be sexual also.

Its easy to denounce GGW but you fail to recognize that institutions like that wouldnt exist if girls werent whores. How about punishing the underage girls? What are underage girls doing on the GGW bus? Why are they drinking and engaging in sexual acts when they know they are not allowed?

Save me the argument that GGW represent the "rape culture." Key to avoiding rape is not putting your self in a situation where rape could happen. (Unless you're attacked and abducted while walking to your car or something) Showing up to a bar in skanky close might give guys the impression that you're a skank. Surprising isnt it?
