Levi Millhollon, a Gainesville sophomore, was arrested Thursday afternoon by Pilot Point police outside the General Academic Building.

Don Jones of the photography faculty said he witnessed Officer Mark White waiting for Millhollon.

When Millhollon left a classroom, White approached him and placed him under arrest in front of about 150 peers, Jones said.

Millhollen was arrested for an outstanding warrant for unpaid traffic violations in the city of Pilot Point, Police Chief James Edland said.

The police had tried to contact him previously and were unsuccessful.

Edland said the only place they found Millhollen was during his school hours and Pilot Point policy is to arrest a suspect wherever he or she can be found.

Students' schedules are only released during special circumstances, which include warrants, subpoena, unless the student has signed a waiver according to David Marling, director of the Student Center for Rights and Responsibilities.
