    Lawsuit against NT police moves forward

    On Wednesday a federal court denied the appeals of two NT police officers accused of using excessive force against a student, allowing a civil rights lawsuit against the officers to go forward. The student, Gus Elliott, filed a lawsuit against the NT police department after an August 16, 2003, arrest in which an officer slammed his head into his car, knocking out Elliott's teeth.     The Student Government Association passed both a bill and a resolution after hearing from Mary Pharris, guest speaker from the NT-40, Wednesday evening. Passed unanimously, the Textbook Study Grant Bill makes money available to departments to set aside textbooks in campus libraries for student use. (0) comments

    Student arrested on campus by Pilot Point PD

    Police came to class for outstanding warrant

    Levi Millhollon, a Gainesville sophomore, was arrested Thursday afternoon by Pilot Point police outside the General Academic Building. Don Jones of the photography faculty said he witnessed Officer Mark White waiting for Millhollon. When Millhollon left a classroom, White approached him and placed him under arrest in front of about 150 peers, Jones said. (12) comments

Moreno, a Fort Worth senior working as a teaching assistant in a fourth-grade classroom at Wellington Elementary in Lewisville, knows he's in the minority.
