UNT basketball announced last week the hiring of a new assistant basketball coach, Shawn Forrest. Forrest spent the last six years as assistant coach for Arkansas State, including part of the 2007-2008 season as co-interim head coach. During his time at Arkansas State University, Forrest helped the Red Wolves to a conference championship final in the 2006-2007 season and had multiple top 100 recruiting classes, according to a UNT statement. Bush presided over a Tee Ball game on the South Lawn, then hosted a social dinner Wednesday in honor of Major League Baseball for about 240 players, members of the National Baseball Hall of Fame, baseball officials and fans, administration officials and lawmakers.
