    NT wins three  in Fall Festival

    After the alumni game Sept. 20, the softball team moved into the next phase of its fall training Saturday and Sunday with three wins at the NT Fall Festival. The Mean Green took on the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, Howard College and Cisco University, winning all matches. (0) comments

    NT tennis team wins flight at invitational

    In a two-day battle at the Stephen F. Austin Invitational, the NT tennis team fell short in the tournament standings and even shorter individually this weekend. The Mean Green managed to win only one semifinals matchup when sophomore Shannon Mackenzie beat Claire Clark, a freshman at University of Louisiana at Monroe, in the sixth flight of singles play.     The NT women's soccer team split its first two conference games of the season this weekend. The Mean Green won against the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns but fell to the University of Louisiana at Monroe Warhawks. Vs. Lafayette Senior forward Veronica Ayala set the pace for the Mean Green in the conference opener Friday against the Ragin' Cajuns. (0) comments

    The NT cross country team ran in its second meet of the season Saturday at the Ken Garland Invitational - the first chance for sophomore Patrick Strong to run this season. "It was OK for the first race of the season," Strong said. "I just need a few more weeks of good training. (0) comments

    Mean Green fried by Rice

    The NT football team finished off another weekend still longing for a notch in the win column. On Saturday night, the Rice University Owls defeated the Mean Green 77-20 in Houston, continuing NT's season-opening losing streak. The points that the Owls' offense posted rank as the second all-time points the Mean Green defense has given up in a single game. (0) comments

    Fencing Club sticks it to UT at tournament

    The NT Fencing Club walked away with the first place finish at the Southwest Intercollegiate Fencing Association tournament Saturday at the Houston University campus. NT competitors won each of his or her bouts in pool play, and the team won three straight encounters to win the tournament in the foil weapon division. (4) comments

    Despite a strong offensive performance, timely mistakes cost the NT volleyball its first conference match of the season Saturday night as the Mean Green lost 1-3 to the University of Denver. "Denver is a good team - they don't make errors, and we do," head coach Cassie Headrick said. (0) comments
