Two astronomers from NT's faculty have confirmed that the pieces of meteorite they found were part of a meteor that burned up over the Texas sky on Feb. 15. The meteor was visible from Austin to East Texas, but the scientists found the fragments outside of the town of West, which is 15 miles north of Waco and 106 miles west of Denton. (1) comment

On Wednesday evening, the Student Government Association passed a new piece of legislation to endorse programs that will benefit troops abroad as well as soldiers and veterans here at home. These initiatives will include going to the airport to welcome troops home, sending boxes of goods to war zones and working with the United Service Organizations, a congressionally chartered nonprofit organization created to link the American public with the troops, said Jeff Kline, president of the SGA and political science senior. On the heels of the NT Dallas campus registering more than 1,000 full-time students, John Ellis Price was chosen to be 'president-designate' of the campus by the Board of Regents. When Jan Holden last saw her father he was dead, but to her it was utterly real. Holden, professor and coordinator of NT's counseling program, had a near-death communication with her father and now studies the phenomenon.
