DALLAS (AP) - Dallas-area radio personality Russ Martin was released from jail after being arrested on an assault charge, authorities said.
Martin, host of the popular Russ Martin Show on KLLI-FM, was arrested Friday on a charge of aggravated assault with bodily injuries with a deadly weapon. It was in connection to an incident at a store, Southlake police spokesman Mike Bedrich said in Saturday's online edition of the Dallas Morning News.
Martin was released from jail after posting a $10,000 bond, a jail spokesman said.
The Russ Martin Show runs weekdays from 3-7 p.m. and is one of the area's most popular radio shows. Martin has worked in Dallas radio for 26 years, according to the station's Web site.
An e-mail sent by The Associated Press to Russ Martin and a voicemail message left at the radio station were not immediately returned Saturday.
