The Denton City Council nominated and appointed UNT President Gretchen Bataille to the city's Economic Development Partnership Board on Tuesday.

She joins Marty Rivers, Mayor Mark Burroughs and Stan Morton on the board.

Rivers is the branch president of First State Bank in Denton, and Morton is the CEO of Presbyterian Hospital in Denton as well as the treasurer for Burrough's campaign for mayor.

The board hears reports from the city's utilities department and task forces for economic development, according to the board's minutes.

The council also appointed Guy McElroy to the Citizens Advisory Oversight Committee.

"The city of Denton has a lot of history of having a lot of citizen committees to help the council," Burroughs said.
