NT is nearly doubling the number of classes at the Universities Center of Dallas next semester, meaning more students will travel to downtown Dallas to take courses. In the spring semester, NT will offer 24 classes at the Universities Center of Dallas. The panel's topic is "The United States' Image in the New Millennium: Challenges and Opportunities," and three NT professors and a student will speak about America's image in the global community. The Student Publication Committee named a journalism senior with years of experience at the NT Daily, as well as professional papers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, as editor-in-chief of the Daily for spring 2009. Tuesday, Nov. 18 Forrest Rucker, 18, turned himself in to NT police because of his warrant for credit card abuse. Police took the NT student to the Denton County Jail. NT police found that an impound boot had been stolen from a vehicle on Welch Street. It is unknown who stole the boot. (0) comments
The Student Government Association suspended its textbook study grant initiative and passed a resolution increasing cyclist safety awareness at its last meeting of the fall semester Wednesday evening. The Reserve Textbook Initiative Bill cited a lack of "well-defined procedure for granting textbooks" and proposed revising the bylaws concerning the program. (0) comments
NT's student-led Organization for Reinforcement Contingencies with Animals will host a horse training lecture on Dec. 5. The organization and the department of behavior analysis have invited horse trainer Alexandra Kurland to speak on the clicker training method and how useful it is in teaching horses how to behave.
