For the first time in 18 years, since she performed in Houston and Dallas with her Blond Ambition Tour, Madonna brought her tour back to Texas.
The concert was delayed for two hours, but the fans were rewarded for every single second they waited. In her best shape, Madonna performed a nonstop singing and dancing set list that included old classics like "Borderline," "Into the Groove," "Like a Prayer" and "La Isla Bonita," mixed with new hits like "Music," "Ray of Light" and "Hung Up."
Divided in four sections, Pimp, Old School, Gypsy and Rave, Madonna wore different outfits for each section that were designed specially for her tour by Givenchy, Yves Saint Laurent, Moschino, Stella McCartney and others.
The concert had the presence of a few special guests on video recordings. In the song "Beat Goes On," Pharrell Willims and Kanye West appeared in the background screen singing and interacting with Madonna.
"Human Nature" was presented with a video of Britney Spears singing and dancing in an elevator while Madonna played the guitar to the audience. Justin Timberlake and Timbaland joined her on the big screen for the hit "4 Minutes."
Madonna interacted with the audience who got to choose any song for her to sing. "Secret" was the chosen song for the Houston concert, which she forgot the words to and apoligized afterward by saying, "Alright Texas, I forgot that song! Thank you for reminding me!"
With this tour, Madonna is also trying to break her own record as the top-grossing tour ever by a female artist, reached by her previous tour, The Confessions Tour, which earned $193.7 million.
Her world tour has a total of 58 concerts, which include 17 in Europe, 30 in North America and 11 concerts in South America. The ticket prices for Houston ranged from $90 for the last section of seats to $575 for the VIP section.
With a great set list and energy that reached every single person at Minute Maid Park,
Madonna proved in every way why she is known as the Queen of Pop.
