$30-and-under Amazon gift guide sure to help you find something for everyone

With more than 30 departments and counting, Amazon shopping can be overwhelming and at times disheartening. It normally goes something like this: open up the shop tab, browse the departments, type in a search keyword and then panic at the unexpected 3,000 results that pop up. The sheer vastness and variety of Amazon is enough to delegate any Christmas shopping to, well, some other day.

I’ve managed to scour the site to compile a list of items that can help you cross off some items on your holiday gift shopping list. So whether you’re shopping for your mom, sister or boyfriend, there’s something here for everyone:

Sherpa Throw Blanket by Sochow, $26

The Sherpa blanket has a reputation for a reason: It feels like fabric heaven. If you are looking to make a loved one squeal from delight and comfort, this throw is the perfect present. It is anti-static, weighted, anti-pill and offers more than 20 different colors. This gift would be a great fit for mom or grandma, but no human in their right mind could turn down a blanket this soft.

Dashboard smartphone mount, $25

Not everyone is a gifted navigator, and some unfortunate souls need Siri to remember east from west. Not to worry though, Amazon comes to the rescue with the Beatrix smartphone car mount. Simply stick the connector to a car window, dash or vent for hands-free driving. Be it your mother, father, relative or even a friend, the phone car mount is perfect for the most directionally challenged of loved one’s.

Echo Dot, $30

Do you have a friend who would love a small silicone slave to do their bidding? If so, the Echo Dot is a perfect match for them. You really cannot go wrong with any of Amazon’s helpful devices, especially if you are looking to splurge for a special occasion. Sure, it may listen in to all conversations and watch you when you sleep, but that sounds like a fair trade for robot servitude. Buy this for that someone that would thrive on saying, “Echo, play my anthem.”

Poo-Pourri Holiday Bundle, $21

Like the fabulous fragrance says, ship happens at the most inopportune times. Help remedy this age-old dilemma with the infamous spray Poo-Pouri, the scientifically-tested spray-before-you-go bathroom deodorizer. This spray holds the right hint of class needed for a Christmas party, family reunion or even a white elephant event. Be extra festive by buying the holiday bundle, which comes with “Spiced Apple” and “Secret Santa.” Yes, they went there.

Paper Mate’s Ink Joy Pens, $19

This semester ends and a new one is swiftly approaching, so what better way to prepare than with a new set of quality pens? For your fellow friends and classmates galore, order a shipment of Paper Mate’s glorious ink pens. These things are perfect for note-taking, they move quickly and with ease and these neither bleed nor smudge. At only 20 bucks, this gift is perfect for any friend who has a small and healthy obsession with color-coordination.

Stainless steel straws, $12

Americans on average consume an undue amount of plastic straws every year. This season, help a relative switch to better alternatives with this set of eight colored steel beauties. Amazon offers colored stainless steel straws that can be shipped just in time for Christmas. They can be used as a gag gift, or for a genuine present. Buy them for that environmentally conscious relative (you know the one).

Q&A a Day Journal, $12

For book nerds and journal lovers alike, this gift will be perfect for anyone with a penchant for writing. The Q&A a Day Journal is designed to be used for the next five years. With each entry, you can record the progression of your thoughts and answers across five years. This gift would be perfect for an introspective friend or relative who enjoys reflecting on where they have been and how they felt at various times in the past.
