35 Denton on hiatus until 2015

After being in a coma for the past few months, 35 Denton has come to and is slowly recovering.
Three key producers of the Denton music festival resigned shortly after this year’s run and it has been uncertain whether the festivities would return. Friday morning, North Texas was informed that 35 Denton will make a comeback in the spring of 2015.
Chris Flemmons has replaced Kyle LaValley as Creative Director when she resigned.
“Kyle did a wonderful job with the identity and branding of the festival,” Flemmons said to the Dallas Observer.
The festival also lost Natalie Davila, the talent buyer, and Little Guys Movers, the primary financial backer. Priorities are set on finding funding, according to the Observer. Instead of depending on extensive funding from one primary source, the festival will be looking to sponsorships and ticket sales for financial support.
“This wasn’t something that was meant to work by patronage,” Flemmons said “I want to see it sustain itself.”
Although Denton has missed another year of Hot Wet Mess and will have to miss 35 Denton next year, it can look forward to its return in the year to follow.
