Beer and Tacos @ Oak St. Drafthouse, 5 p.m.

Sample beers from regional and national breweries while munching on some of Denton’s best tacos. $5 with wristband, $10 without.

DIME pop-show @ 510 Locust St., 6 p.m.

Formerly Denton Etsy, founders Rachel Aughtry and Shelly Christner are opening The DIME Store at 510 Locust Street on April 5 and are hosting a preview this weekend. They’ll be selling handmade crafts 6 to 9 p.m. tonight and will be accompanied by live music from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. tomorrow. One of the official 35Denton food trucks will also be at their shop.

In the Mix: Music Industry Networking Reception @ The Labb, 6 p.m.

Recording Academy Texas Chapter Board Members will host a networking event for musicians, artists, producers, songwriters and anyone else involved in the music industry.

Roky Erickson @ Stage 2, 7 p.m.

Erickson is a legendary rock and roll musician who had a large influence on the psychedelic scene in the ‘60s.

Will Play for Tips: Legal Tips for Musicians/Artists/Songwriters @ UNT on the Square, 3 p.m.

Musicians should attend this session to learn when to get a lawyer, how to protect their band and to become well-versed in copyright law. Hosted by the Dallas Bar Association Sports & Entertainment Law Section.

Denton: A City, a College, and a Creative Class @ Oak St. Drafthouse, 5 p.m

City councilman Kevin Roden will moderate a panel about the way Denton’s culture has influenced the creation of 35Denton. It’s a continuation of last fall’s Denton Creatives Mixer.

Datahowler @ The Hive, 10:30 p.m.

Ross Edman is a jack of all trades from Dallas. He’s performed with Motown cover bands, indie rock groups and recently, Die Antwoord. His show is bound to be anything but predictable.
