Conference USA released the 2015 football schedules for all the teams in the league, including the Mean Green. Here’s a quick breakdown on how North Texas’ schedule will shake out:
September: The Mean Green will have an early week one bye on Sept. 5 before opening the season on the road against Southern Methodist University. That will be a great chance for North Texas to get an early win and try and repeat this season’s 43-6 win over the Mustangs. The Mean Green will follow that up with its home and conference opener against Rice University on Sept. 19 at Apogee Stadium. The team will close out September with a road game against Iowa University on Sept. 26.
October: October begins with with a road contest against the University of Southern Mississippi on Oct. 3. This will be a tough way to open the month considering the Mean Green lost to Southern Miss 30-20 this season at home. It gets easier for North Texas the next week as Portland State University will visit Apogee Stadium on Oct. 10, which should be an easy win for the Mean Green. The team will follow that up a home game against Western Kentucky University on Oct. 17, before heading on the road for a tough matchup with the defending C-USA champion Marshall University Thundering Herd on Oct. 24. North Texas will close out October with a home game against the University of Texas at San Antonio on Halloween.
November: This is a brutal month for the Mean Green, with three out of the four games down the stretch being on the road. It begins with playing Louisiana Tech University on the road on Nov. 7, who the Mean Green lost to 42-21 at Apogee Stadium on Sept. 11. Next up, it’ll be another road matchup with the University of Tennessee out of the Southeastern Conference on Nov. 14. The Mean Green’s last road game of the season will me on Nov. 21 against Middle Tennessee State University, before finally returning home for the last game of the season on Nov. 28 against the University of Texas at El Paso.
