Brief: 431 votes so far for SGA impeachment vote

Tim Cato // News Editor
There are 431 votes for the SGA petition that would bring about an impeachment vote by a special SGA election, senator Shamaal Fletcher said in an email to the student body.
If the petition reaches 1,000 votes for the impeachment of SGA president Zachary Brown and vice president Anthony Brown, it will be voted on by SGA and require two thirds majority. There are also 86 votes against his impeachment, bringing the total participation to 517.
Votes are confidential and can only be accessed by SGA members with “need to know” authority. Fletcher proposed the impeachment at a Jan. 23 meeting on the grounds of 11 counts of negligence to the student body constitution and by-laws.
