The Multicultural Greek Council will be hosting the Eagle Awards and presenting three awards to organizations promoting diversity on April 25. The Student Government Association will present two awards honoring leaders striving to better the UNT community. The Center for Leadership and Service will present three awards. Seven other awards will be presented by Student Activities, including Organization of the Year, Outstanding President and Eagle Spirit Award, among others.
There are certain organizations that are prominent in specific categories, like Talons, which has won the Eagle Spirit Award three consecutive times in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
Another previous winner is Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, which won SGA Exemplary Organization of the Year in 2010. One of the sisters, Sandra Rangel, who is now an alum, also won Emerging Female Leader.
“The award motivated me to continue being involved on campus,” Rangel said. “It was a great feeling to get an individual award.”
The application deadline was originally March 1, but due to high interest in applying, the deadline has been pushed to Friday, March 8.
