Amidst the constantly moving landscape of the NCAA conferences, the Mean Green football team announced its opponents in its inaugural season in Conference USA.

C-USA announced the east and west divisions based on geographical convenience for the upcoming season. The west division features UNT, Rice University, the University of Texas-El Paso, the University of Texas-San Antonio, the University of Tulsa, Tulane University and Louisiana Tech University. The east division is comprised of East Carolina University, Florida Atlantic University, Florida International University, Marshall University, Middle Tennessee State University, the University of Southern Mississippi and the University of Alabama-Birmingham.

The Mean Green plays host to all of its new, in-state conference opponents this year. Along with the Texas trio of Rice, UTEP and UTSA, UNT welcomes the University of Idaho, Ball State University and old Sun Belt rival Middle Tennessee to Apogee Stadium.

The Mean Green travels to Ohio University, the University of Georgia, Tulane, Tulsa, Southern Miss and Louisiana Tech.

While the dates of the C-USA games are to be determined, UNT opens at home for the first time since 2001. This time on August 31 against Idaho.
