Brief: Mean Green volleyball beats in-state rival Rice University in four sets

After struggling on the road for much of the year, the Mean Green volleyball team picked up its fifth road win of the season against Rice University on Sunday.
The Mean Green volleyball team (13-12, 5-4) won the match over Rice (6-17, 3-6) in four sets ( 25-22, 23-25, 28-26, 25-18) behind sophomore outside hitter Carnae Dillard, who got her 14th double-double of the season with 21 kills and 20 digs.
Junior outside hitter Hanna Forst had 16 kills, senior middle back Karissa Flack added 14 kills and senior outside hitter Courtney Windham finished with 11 kills. Senior libero Shelby Tamura had a season-high 25 digs in the match. Overall, the team had an attack percentage of .288 while holding Rice to .238.
The Mean Green will return home this Friday to take on Louisiana Tech University at 7 p.m.
