The Mean Green men’s basketball team’s five game winning streak ended on Saturday with a 70-57 loss to Old Dominion University. It was also the team’s senior night.

North Texas (14-14, 8-8) started well in the first half, and had a 33-27 lead at halftime over Old Dominion (22-6, 11-5). The Mean Green shot 50 percent from the first half while holding ODU to 37 percent shooting.

The second half was the exact opposite, as ODU began to make shots while North Texas went cold. The Monarchs shot 59.1 percent from the field in the second half, while the Mean Green shot 31.6 percent and made just 2 of 11 threes in the final frame.

Senior forward Colin Voss led the team in scoring with 16 points while junior guard Maurice Aniefiok added 13 points. Junior guard T.J. Taylor had 12 points.

The Mean Green will begin its final road trip of the season on Thursday when it plays the University of Texas at El Paso. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m.
