Brief: Runner highlights Mean Green track meet in California

The Mean Green track and field team competed at the Mt. San Antonio College relays in Walnut, Calif., on April 17-18, with senior distance runner Charlotte Wilson taking the spotlight.
Wilson broke the UNT record in the 10,000-meter race on the first day of the meet. She placed 14th in the silver elite finals division with a time of 35:21.10, a personal best and 59 seconds better than the school record.
Sophomore distance runner Shauna Pali also competed in the same event and placed 26th with a time of 37:18.16, her personal best as well.
In the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase, junior runner Magdalena Escobar placed 17th with a time of 11:12.45. In the men’s race, sophomore runner James Coleman placed 15th with a time of 9:11.22 and junior Alejandro Valencia placed 18th with 9:14.11.
On day two, sophomore Troy Taylor placed 11th overall and second in his section of the 1,500-meter run with a personal best time of 3:47.81. Sophomore Bryce McAndrew also placed second in his section of the 1,500-meter run, with a time of 3:53.21.
