The Mean Green women’s basketball game couldn’t keep the momentum gained from the 73-64 home win against the University of Texas at El Paso on Wednesday, as the team lost on the road Saturday night to the University of Tulsa Golden Hurricane 63-43.
Tulsa (11-13, 5-8) came in losing its last six games with the last win coming against the Mean Green (11-15, 5-8) in Denton Jan. 29.
The Mean Green only trailed 20-18 at halftime and held Tulsa to a 16.7 shooting percentage in the first half. However, the Golden Hurricane hit six three-pointers and shot 55.6 percent from the field in the second half to blow the game open.
Meanwhile, the Mean Green offense only shot 29.4 percent from the field. Sophomore forward Alexis Hyder was the only UNT player who scored in double digits with 12 points.
The Mean Green will look to regroup when the team goes on the road to face Rice University at 7 p.m. Wednesday Feb. 26.
