Brief: Tennis cancels match due to weather

The Mean Green tennis team was prepared to go up against Columbia University on Saturday. However the team was not prepared for the fight it would have with the weather. The match against Columbia was cancelled due to excessive water on the courts from the constant rain.
Coach, players and volunteers gathered with squeegees and towels to hand dry the drowning courts, but rain kept pouring, eventually forcing the cancelation of the match.
“I was definitely disappointed,” head coach Sujay Lama said. “It is a missed opportunity for us to compete against a higher-ranked team and to improve. Mother nature just didn’t work with us.”
The match will not be rescheduled, but Lama said the team is looking to set up extra matches or a tournament in the coming weeks.
