The Mean Green soccer team stormed to a 6-0 victory in its Panda Cup International friendly match Tuesday night against Chinook Sevilla U18 – an amateur team from Calgary, Canada.

After a slow start, the Mean Green was able to dominate the match. The teams played two 40-minute halves, with both teams using unlimited substitutions.

First half action:

16:06 – Sophomore midfielder Leah Cox scored the opening goal after a scramble in the Chinook penalty box.

13:03 – After a goalkeeper error, junior defender Kelsey Hodges looped a ball into the net from close range.

Second half action:

31:41 – Hodges scored from more than 25 yards from goal. Hodges controlled the ball and fired a shot into the upper right corner.

27:50 – Freshman midfielder Karla Pineda hammered the ball home after a mix-up from the Canadian goalkeeper.
