Brief: women’s basketball blown out by Oklahoma

The Mean Green women’s basketball team fell to 0-6 on the season after a 68-39 home loss to the University of Oklahoma Sooners, Sunday morning at the Super Pit.
The Sooners (5-2) jumped out to a 40-16 lead at halftime by shooting 45.5 percent from the field in the first half. The Mean Green made just five of its 22 shots in the first half. North Texas improved in the second half, but were still outscored 28-23 by the Sooners to end up falling 68-39.
Mean Green guard BreAnna Dawkins lead the team in scoring in nine points, while senior forward Briesha Wynn was held to zero points. For the game, the team shot 26.9 percent from the field and also had 37 turnovers.
The Mean Green will have a week off before it hits the road to play the University of Missouri – Kansas City on Dec. 14. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. and the Mean Green will be searching for its first win of the season.
