Brief: women’s basketball loses 10th game of season

The Mean Green women’s basketball team extended its losing streak to four games after a 75-38 blowout loss to No. 5 Texas A&M University on the road.
North Texas (1-10) started well against A&M (12-2) and had a 12-11 lead midway through the first half. But, A&M outscored the Mean Green 24-7 throughout the rest of the first half to take a 35-18 break at the break.
The Aggies didn’t let up and began the second half on a 23-7 run, and ended up outscoring the Mean Green 40-20 in the second half. The Mean Green struggled offensively again, as it shot 24.6 percent from the field and 11.1 percent from three point range. Senior forward Briesha Wynn led all Mean Green scorers with nine points.
The team will begin conference play on Friday when it remains on the road to play the University of Texas – El Paso. Tipoff is set for Friday.
