The Mean Green women’s basketball team lost its final road game of the season to Old Dominion University 70-48.

North Texas (5-22, 4-12) was down by 10 at the break, and was shooting 26.7 percent from the field in the first half.

Despite it being a manageable deficit, the Mean Green couldn’t overcome it in the second half.  The team shot an even worse 24.2 percent from the field in the second half and shot 35.7 percent on three-pointers for the day.

Old Dominion, meanwhile, shot 48.3 percent from the field for the game and 42.1 percent from three-point range.

Sophomore forward Eboniey Jeter had 13 points and 12 rebounds while junior guard Candice Adams added 10.

North Texas will return home for senior night on Thursday against the University of Texas at El Paso. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. This will be the last home game of the season for the Mean Green as the March 7 matchup with the University of Texas at San Antonio was moved to Texas Women’s University.
