The UNT Police Department tweeted a crime bulletin Monday morning in the hopes of identifying a suspect who they believe assaulted a female student and College Inn resident Thursday afternoon.

According to the bulletin, the suspect identified himself as a maintenance worker in order to gain entry into the residence hall located in the 200 block of Avenue D. After knocking on several doors, the suspect tried to sell magazine subscriptions to the female who answered and entered her room without permission after being asked to leave, police said.

The bulletin states the suspect then followed the woman to Willis Library on Highland Street and pushed her before leaving.

The suspect is described as a white male around 18 or 19 years old and approximately 5-foot-6-inches to 5-foot-8-inches tall. He is believed to have brown hair, acne scars on his face and a rainbow earring in his left ear.

If found, this individual could face charges of criminal trespassing and assault by contact as well as a violation of the campus no-solicitation policy within residence halls.

Anyone with any information about the incident or the suspect is encouraged to contact Detective Shawn Keohen at (940) 369-7923 or shawn.keohen@unt.edu.

We will update this post as new information becomes available.
