Numerous build-your-own burger chains have been popping up all around town the past few years, with the likes of Five Guys and Moo-yah running the pantheon. The issue with these burgers is they aren’t made with any heart and are far too greasy due to their outrageous fat content. Burger Time Machine located at 301 West University Drive serves America’s favorite food and adds in a whole lot of love that includes fresh, never-frozen ground beef into every burger.

Do yourself a favor and come ready to loosen up your belt as each burger weighs in at a staggering 1/2 pounds. Their titular burger, simply called “Time Machine,” has all the extras one could hope for in a savory burger including mushrooms, jalapenos and a slice of American cheese for a decent price of $6.49.

If you are curious about putting your feelers out and trying something new give the “Country Peanut Butter Burger” a try, aside from the tasty lunch-time sandwich spread this burger has bacon, barbecue sauce and cheese along with your standard veggies for $8.49.

These burgers are scrumptious indeed, but the prices exceed the limit of the average college student. To make your burger a meal (soft drink & fries) it costs an extra $2.75, which adds up when you factor in tax and any possible extras.

The atmosphere is like a nostalgia shop covered in vintage movie posters and 1950s memorabilia. There is also a small bar area to hang out in and watch a little television while you eat.

All in all, Burger Time Machine offers a much tastier and inventive burger than your typical chain. If you don’t have a problem stomaching the prices, go ahead and treat yourself to one of these mouth-watering concoctions.
