Driver hits student crossing Highland Street

A male driving a silver Ford F-150 hit an unidentified female student while she was crossing Highland Street late Wednesday morning.

The student had minor injuries and was transported to Denton Presbyterian Hospital. UNT spokeswoman Margarita Venegas said the woman hit was “on their phone and a bit distracted.”

The Denton fire department and UNT police responded to the incident.
