Tuesdays and Thursdays: Eagle Peer Recovery, a student-run peer support group for drug and alcohol abuse, meets every Tuesday and Thursday in Chestnut Hall 301C from 11 a.m. to noon.

Sept. 6: The Learning Center will help students prepare for the GRE from 10:30 a.m. to noon in Sage Hall 315.

Sept. 6: The Health and Wellness Center will hold a stress management session from noon to 1 p.m. at the pavilion on the west side of the Business Leadership Building. The event will include yoga, therapy dogs, trail mix and free chair massages.

Sept. 9-12: The Learning Center will host academic success programs to help freshmen hit the ground running at various times in Sage Hall 315. The sessions will go through time management, study tips and test-taking strategies. Times are 10:30 a.m.to noon Monday, noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, 1 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday. These sessions are for freshmen only.

Sept. 9: The Learning Center will hold a statistics 101 workshop for graduate students to brush up on basic statistical principles at 1:30 to 3 p.m. in Sage Hall 315.

Sept. 10: The Mayhem Poets will perform at 6 p.m. at the Gateway Center. The mayhem poets use hip-hop and comedy through spoken word. This event is free with a student ID card. Call the University Program Council at 940-565-3825 for more information.

Sept. 10: The Learning Center will host a research skills workshop from 6:30 to 8 p.m. for graduate students to improve their research skills and enhance their understanding of the research process in Sage Hall 315.

Sept. 11-12: The Learning Center will hold Learning 101 workshops in Sage Hall 315. Wednesday’s workshop will be on study habits and note-taking 9 to 10 a.m. and Thursday’s session will be on test-taking running 11 a.m. to noon.

Sept. 11: The Learning Center hosts the Grad School Guide to Getting in from noon to 1 p.m. in Sage Hall 315. Students may learn the ins and outs of entrance exams and the graduate application process.

Sept. 12: UPC will host Spirit Gear Bingo in the Willis Library forum from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Students can play for the chance to win UNT spirit gear. This event is free.

Sept. 12: The Syndicate will show “The Hangover” and “The Hangover Part II” from 6 to 10 p.m. in the Eagle Student Services Center 255. This screening is free with a student ID.

Sept. 13: The Learning Center will host a test preparation workshop for the LSAT 10:30 a.m. to noon in Sage Hall 315.

Sept. 16: The Career Center will host information session on Southwest Airlines from 3 to 4 p.m. in Chestnut Hall rooms 120 A and B. Representatives from the airline company will be present.

Sept. 18: The Career Center will host a meet and greet with GE Capital in the Business Leadership Building’s atrium. Representatives from the bank will be present.
