Homecoming weekend festivities

Here are some homecoming events going on across campus this weekend:
- Homecoming Spirit March – 7 p.m. Friday at fraternity row on Maple Street. The march will begin on fraternity row and proceed to the bonfire at the northwest side of Apogee Stadium.
- Homecoming Bonfire – 8 p.m. Friday at Apogee Stadium. The homecoming pep rally and bonfire will take place following the spirit march to the stadium. UNT Talons, a Mean Green spirit group, annually constructs the man-made bonfire.
- Intramural Homecoming Fun Run – 7:15 a.m. Saturday at the Pohl Recreation Center. The 5K fun run will take place Saturday morning prior to the parade. Participants can register before the run or in the morning at the rec center.
- Homecoming Parade – 9 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Welch Street and Hickory Street. The parade heads to the Square and then back to the campus, ending at the intersection of North Texas Boulevard and Highland Street.
- Homecoming Tailgate – 11 a.m. Saturday at The Hill by Apogee Stadium. Various student organizations will participate in tailgating prior to the Mean Green football game against the University of Texas-El Paso.
- Homecoming Football Game – 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Apogee Stadium. The UNT football team goes for its fifth straight win this weekend against UTEP. The game is free for students with their student ID, and tickets cost $15 for the public.
