The work of Mayborn photographer Junebug Clark is on display at UNT on the Square until July 22. The gallery consists more than a few black and white stills. Family history and a passion for photography grace the walls.
Three generations back, Junebug’s grandfather, Joe, was given a camera for the weekend by his boss, an advertising man, who was intrigued to see more of the mountains Clark’s grandfather called home. Out of 36 photographs taken that weekend in the mountains, 14 were run in Life magazine.
The Clark family has been observing “Life through the Lens” ever since. The gallery features photographs taken by Joe, Junebug’s father, HBSS, and Junebug, who says, “So come in and take your time, it’s about the stories.”
“I always say, every photograph tells a story and I like that our photographs like to focus on the good parts of those stories,” said Junebug, the man behind the camera.

The gallery opened June first and was a success, with locals partaking in wine and conversation.
The gallery also displayed family artifacts and photographs for a young Junebug Clark running around with his first camera.
