Update: Tuesday, March 7 – 3:44 pm
Denton police spokesman Orlando Hinojosa said Frazier was detained at 2:48 a.m. on March 4th when an officer discovered he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The warrant stemmed from an unpaid traffic citation for no insurance, according to Hinojosa.
Hinojosa said he does not know where Frazier was picked up or how he encountered police. Typically found in the arrest affidavit, Hinojosa said one was not filed because the charge was only a Class C misdemeanor. Hinojosa said Frazier was released from jail the same day at 1 p.m.

North Texas guard Keith Frazier was arrested on Friday morning for failure to maintain financial responsibility for Irving PD warrants, according to the Denton Police Department’s City Jail Custody Report.
Frazier was detained at 2:48 a.m. Friday morning.
“We are aware of Keith’s prior traffic violations leading to his arrest last night,” head coach Tony Benford said in a statement. “At this time, we are going to let the legal system play out his course of action.”
Frazier completed his transfer to North Texas from Southern Methodist University at the end of January and will have to wait two semesters before suiting up for the Mean Green due to NCAA transfer rules.
