Mr. Chopsticks to offer free meals for two hours on Thanksgiving

Denton Asian food restaurant Mr. Chopsticks will be open from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. this Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, to serve free meals to those in need, according to a post on the restaurant’s Facebook page.
The establishment, which has been open since 1985, will be closed for regular service next Thursday and Friday.
Jones said this is the first time owner Numchai “Chai” Tamprateep has offered free meals on the holiday and said Tamprateep wanted to give back to his community.
“We’re just going to have the window, so people can just drive up if they’ve heard about it,” said UNT alum Spencer Jones, who has worked at Mr. Chopsticks for seven years. “[Tamprateep] going to give out free veggie fried rice and chicken fried rice.”
Mr. Chopsticks will return to regular hours of operation on Saturday, Nov. 24 and is located at 1633 Scripture St.
