Three apartment complexes for Denton college students are being built and will begin offering housing for the upcoming semesters in August.

Midtown Student Apartments, The Grove at Denton and The Retreat at Denton are offering pre-leases for UNT and TWU students, and will host move-in days at summer’s end.

Located at 905 Cleveland Street, across the street from the Gateway apartment complex, Midtown will be much smaller than other Denton apartments, said property manager P.K. Hsu.

The complex offers its units furnished and unfurnished, with the furnished units starting at $569 and the unfurnished units at $539. The rate for the two-bedroom units begins at $679, and $589 for the three-bedroom units.

Although pre-leasing for the apartments began just two months ago, a large amount of students have signed up, Hsu said.

“We’ve actually started filling up pretty much all of our two-bedroom apartments and most of our three-bedrooms,” said Hsu. “We’ve only got a couple of beds left in those.”

The Grove Apartments are located at 701 Fort Worth Drive, just down the street from Midtown, and will feature amenities such as a basketball court, pool, 24-hour workout facility and a library.

Taylor Dyson, a sales manager for the Grove in Denton, said the complex will offer two- and three-bedroom units.

“It’s very residential-focused. In the clubhouse, we’re always hosting events, giving free rent, recognizing you on your birthday. It’s just an overall community.”

There are 10 buildings in the complex with 584 total beds. The rates for the units are $640 for the two-bedrooms, and $580 for the three-bedrooms. Larger units are available in the Grove’s three-story clubhouse.

“I really thought leases were going to slow down a lot since school ended, but we’ve pulled in leases every day,” Dyson said.

The Retreat, on 1451 Centre Place Drive, offers 125 total cottages that can house up to 492 total residents and has 14 floor plans.

“Our cottages all have a different feel,” said Bryan Curley, the manager of the Retreat. “Every floor plan we have is almost like it’s an exclusive floor plan.”

The Retreat also offers three, four and five bedroom options. Rent starts at $540, while electricity is $30 per person and water is $10 per person.
