Nicki Minaj is back to save (female) rap (and me)

After an extended hiatus — aka about four months without social media and no new singles — Nicki Minaj has returned to bless us all.

If you know me, or at least follow me on Twitter, you know how big of a fan I am of Nicki, so when she released her two new singles “Chun-Li” and “Barbie Tingz” on April 12, all of Twitter (and me) was in absolute shambles.

A hashtag by the name of #NickiDay sprung up when she started tweeting, and it was the No. 1 trending hashtag for the entire day. So, I guess the 12th of April, or should I say Nicki Day, is now a national holiday. Sorry, I do not make the rules, I just follow them.

It is no secret her impact in the rap world has certainly touched all reaches of it, and despite the haters, she continues to run the game with no real competition in sight.

Her bars are unmatched, her sleek flow changes and her blistering metaphors and double entendres are just a few of the things Nicki does like no other. Lets also not neglect to mention she writes all of her own raps, which for some sad reason seems to be a rarity these days.

Her new singles and features are just the icing on the cake because Nicki will finally release her long-awaited fourth studio album this year. (Accompanied by a world tour for the album, of course.)

Now Nicki is back for good. We can finally take a deep breath and congratulate ourselves for surviving the drought of Nicki Minaj. Queen Nicki is back, and she is not going anywhere.

Go out and support the queen the way she needs us too. Her singles “Chun-Li” and “Barbie Tingz” are streaming on all platforms and are available to buy on iTunes. Her two new features, “Anybody” with Young Thug and “Ball for Me” with Post Malone, are also now streaming and available to buy.

Honestly, there is no one doing it like her in the game now and before her reign, and even after she’s gone, she will still be remembered for being the undisputed queen of rap.
