Police investigating body found at Denton recycling center as homicide

A dead body was found Monday afternoon at a Denton recycling center, police confirmed.

The body was discovered at a recycling dropoff center in the 1500 block of South Mayhill Road, according to Shane Kizer, public information officer with the Denton Police Department.

An employee found a deceased adult male inside of the recycling center and reported the body to police at 12:48 p.m.

The Denton PD is treating the situation as a homicide.

“Anytime we have an unattended death we treat them all as homicides and work our way back from there,” Kizer said. “That way we don’t overlook anything.”
