What happens when you combine the star power of Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, David Spade and Kevin James? Well, a decade ago it would more than likely add up to a barrel of laughs and some memorable moments. In the case of the comedy quartet’s latest film “Grown Ups 2,” the only thing worth remembering is the feeling of happiness that the end credits bring.

“Grown Ups 2” has zero redeeming qualities. It relies on flat, chauvinistic and plain mean-spirited humor—not to mention, it has the worst acting seen on screen so far this year.

The plot of the movie is nearly non-existent. The only thread of plot that “Grown Ups 2” attempts to accomplish is getting all the main and supporting characters together for a big party at Sandler’s house and an on going battle with a group of frat guys led by everybody’s favorite shirtless werewolf, Taylor Lautner (“The Twilight Saga”). Each of the four starring comedians get their own subplots to work with, and each one is more absurd and illogical than the next.

For good measure, here are some examples of the type “jokes” that are used in the film: a deer urinating directly in Sandler’s face, James’ ongoing bit involving his on the fritz digestive system, and comedy that pokes fun at physical deformities. It’s nearly impossible to find any silver linings when it comes to the attempted humor in the film.

Audiences will notice numerous familiar faces, with cameo’s from Shaquille O’ Neal and Stone Cold Steve Austin. It’s possible that Sandler and his band of friends just threw a bunch of money to get these quasi-stars to come out of the woodwork.

It’s apparent that this sequel was made as an excuse for a bunch of friends to get together and hang out for a couple months—and to receive a massive paycheck because this movie is likely to rack up hefty box office numbers. Don’t waste your time on the latest entry into Sandler’s increasingly terrible filmography.

“Grown Ups 2” opens tomorrow.
