SGA president Troy Elliott announced he is stepping down in a press release tonight, saying he was unable to register for classes.
Elliott said he receives financial aid as well as financial support from home to cover his out-of-state tuition, but his financial situation changed.
“I’ll be back in the summertime,” Elliott said. “I’ll be here helping Kam out. I’ll be working to be back on track to graduate in the fall.”
Former vice president Kamaeron Willard will take over as president and former SGA chief of staff Ike Esedebe is now vice president, which follows the SGA’s constitution.
Elliott said he plans to stay in Denton for the summer.
