So long, and thanks for the memories

So long, and thanks for the memories

When I first came to UNT three years ago, my plan didn’t include working in the dark, windowless basement of the General Academic Building—also known as the NT Daily.

The plan was to get in and get out of school with as few distractions as possible. But somewhere along the way, the distractions became the best part of the journey.

Joining a sorority, working at the Daily, pursuing a double major and making life-long friends have all defined my experience at UNT, and for that I’d like to thank you all.

To the faculty, staff, students and Dentonites, thank you for letting me share your stories. Whether I’m sewing up a deer head in a local taxidermist’s office, maneuvering robots in Discovery Park or listening to students’ concerns at a protest, I’ve never had a boring day learning about what matters to each of you.

Many UNT faculty and staff have graciously given a moment of their time to speak about their areas of expertise and knowledge for Daily stories, and it’s been a blast soaking up their experiences.

During my time here, I’ve been inspired and entertained by Dentonites from all walks of life, and the welcoming spirit of this town is why it’s been so easy for me to call it my home for the last few years.

The students at UNT have an incredible passion for their school and consistently push the boundaries of excellence. I’m forever proud to be a member of the Mean Green nation, and sharing the struggles and triumphs of this school is something I’ll never forget.

My professors Kathie Hinnen, Neil Foote and Tracy Everbach have consistently supported me, willingly offering their time to better their students and this paper. I can’t thank them enough for that.

To the Daily staff: I am humbled each day to serve as your editor-in-chief. Your accomplishments astound me and greatly serve this university. Your hard work, late nights and long phone calls have made this paper better, and I wish each of you success in your future journeys.
