On a Tuesday hot enough to remind UNT of the approaching Texas summer, students flocked to a shining beacon of icy relief during the summer registration party at the Library Mall.
UNT Summer Session hosted the event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and made T-shirts for the occasion.
Two Kona Ice trucks parked in front of the Hurley Administration Building and served a variety of flavored snow cones, including Mean Green Apple.
Enjoying their frozen treats, students spun a miniature wheel of fortune that earned them prizes from ChapStick to T-shirts.
Director of UNT Summer Session Dave McEntire said they put together the event to “bring visibility and publicity to a summer session,” and to encourage undergraduate enrollment.
Registration for seniors began on March 31. Juniors can register as early as April 3, sophomores April 7 and freshmen April 10.
