Suspect in UNT Dallas campus shooting in custody

A shooting occurred Saturday around 7 p.m. on the UNT Dallas campus, according to a tweet from the UNT Dallas Police Department.
The suspected shooter has been arrested, although no details have been released about the suspect or those potentially wounded on the campus, which is located in Oak Cliff.
The suspect allegedly shot the victim during an argument over child custody in one of the school’s parking lots, according to an NBCDFW article. The suspected man got in the victim’s car and fled the scene until he crashed a short time later on Camp Wisdom Road.
The victim is a 41-year-old student at the university who has been transported to Parkland Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Department officials said “further updates will be issued as warranted.”
