Cane’s Chicken Fingers

Finally, the Louisiana-born chicken restaurant is crossing the road to get to Rayzor Ranch. No longer will Denton residents have to trek to Lewisville to chow down on the famous chicken tenders and Cane’s sauce. I know Texans are proud of their own food, but Cajuns are just like rednecks if you add a little hot sauce. So get your hands on these deep-fried tenders as soon as you can. Ayee!

Dix Coney Island

It’s 3 a.m., do you know where you’re going to get food on the Square? How about a hot dog from Dix Coney Island? There’s nothing you can put in your mouth more American than the hot dog. The Square’s newest eatery has ditched the ballpark and is setting up shop on the corner of Elm and Oak Streets. Dix will open its doors 24 hours a day this fall.

Pizza Snob

Denton pizzerias will have a heavy-hitting competitor later this year when Pizza Snob opens on Hickory Street. It’s the kind of pizza that will complete you. Much like Pie Five, you customize your pizza as an artist guides you through beautiful, fresh ingredients, and the Alfredo sauce will give you life. The Pizza Snob just off the Texas Christian University campus is a hit among locals and we can’t wait for ours to open in Denton.

H&M

Hipsters rejoice! The somewhat cheap and awesomely stylish clothing shop H&M is on its way to the Golden Triangle Mall off of Loop 288 and Interstate 35. Though the shop is in stark contrast to the Dillard’s and Macy’s of the Triangle’s current lineup, H&M looks to be sparking new life for the once cricket-sounding mall. Look forward to sales upon sales this fall.

Tea2Go

If you’re burnt out on Jupiter House smoothies, definitely stroll your way down Hickory and refresh yourself with the loose-leaf herbal tea of Tea2Go. Already established in cities like Dallas and Coppell, Tea2Go is a franchise that will delight the urban environmentalist.  Reusable cups, affordable prices and flavors from everything including Banana Macaroon to Prickly Pear. Tea2Go will undoubtedly be a most welcome edition to the parched Dentonite.
