The Dose: Five things that went #viral the week of Sept. 10
Nicholas Friedman | Editor-In-Chief
1. John Cena
Vine is a weird place. With unbelievably bad song edits and jump cuts galore, there is probably something here for everybody, including fans of John Cena.
It looks like Viners (is that it?) have been superimposing audio from his WWE intro over songs, television shows and more. Gamecube intro? JOHN CENA.
2. Apple invents the pencil
It was a calm, end-of-summer morning in California when Apple invented the pencil. Actually, it was yesterday, instead of inventing the pencil, Apple is selling a $99 stylus.
If you’re serious about graphic design, maybe don’t just buy a big iPad?
3. The Late Show with Stephen Colbert
Were you one of the countless fans of the character Stephen Colbert? Were you scared to find out he’d be leaving his post on Comedy Central for a new home on CBS? Well, you’re not alone, but it’s OK.
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert premiered Tuesday night and it was, well, it was awesome. He’s comfortable, asking the right questions and seems right at home. You go Stephen. Now please come speak at UNT’s next commencement.
4. Tom Brady’s suspension reversed
Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was suspended for four games in July as a result of #DeflateGate.
This week a judge reversed the decision, allowing Brady to play the first four games of the season. New England fans are happy, but general football fans have mixed feelings about the commissioner’s authority.
Our take? Go Cowboys!
5. Adam Sandler’s birthday
Yesterday was Adam Sandler’s birthday. Don’t worry, we’re just as excited as you are.
