Starring: Brad Pitt
Available: Sept. 17
Brad Pitt stars as Gerry Lane, a United Nations employee whose qualifications are vaguely described. Lane, his wife and two daughters are stuck in morning traffic, when all of a sudden downtown Philadelphia erupts into complete chaos. As a result of similar events all across the globe, Lane is called back into action to stop a Zombie pandemic that is threatening the existence of humanity.
Right from the start, WWZ wastes little time before diving into the first of many action set pieces. Director Marc Forster’s eye for action will thrill audiences from start to finish.
The idea to base the film in reality was incredibly clever, combining elements of realism with the Zombie mythos works on nearly every level.

“The Bling Ring” tells the true story based on the “Vanity Fair” article “The Subjects Wore Louboutins” about five teens from Southern California who rob their celebrity idols, such as Paris Hilton and Lindsey Lohan.
Director Sofia Coppola’s latest effort, “The Bling Ring,” takes an all too familiar look at the materialistic ideals of America’s youth and their obsession with the spotlight. Even though the film is well packaged with its style and content, Coppola has missed opportunity as she forgets to add any real character depth to its principle characters.
Price Guide:
Amazon: $11.99 DVD, $14.99 Blu-Ray
Best Buy: $12.99 DVD, $17.99 Blu-Ray
Also available through Video On-Demand.
Rent It: “Behind The Candelabra”
Starring: Matt Damon, Michael Douglas
Available: Sept. 17
This made-for-HBO film covers the tempestuous long-term relationship between the eccentric piano player Liberace (Douglas) and his much younger partner Scott Thorson (Damon).
Director Stephen Soderbergh put together a film that is graphic in nature, but will leave you at a loss for words due to the uncomfortably realistic content. “Behind the Candelabra” features magnificent performances from Damon & Douglas and touches on provoking themes such as hiding your identity and substance abuse. This film is worth a watch even if you aren’t a fan of Liberace. Proceed with caution because this film will deliberately make you feel uncomfortable.
Price Guide:
Amazon: $13.49 DVD, $17.99 Blu-Ray
Best Buy: $12.99 DVD, $17.99 Blu-Ray
