Two robbed on east side of campus Tuesday evening

UNT police are actively investigating two robberies that occurred around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday near the 900 blocks of West Prairie Street and West Sycamore street, according to an email from UNT police.
The suspect got into a white sedan after both incidents, which happened just a few minutes apart, according to the email.
A woman told police around 8:27 p.m. she was walking eastbound on the 900 block of West Prairie while listening to music through her headphones. Someone then pushed her to the ground from behind, took her headphones and ran eastbound, according to the email.
The suspect ran into a white four-door sedan that was parked near the entrance to Parking Lot 39.
Police responded to another call at 8:33 p.m. from an individual saying he and a friend were sitting on a bench in front of the Speech and Hearing Building when someone walked up to them, took one of their phones and ran into a white four-door sedan.
The woman described the suspect as a 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-9 inches tall, thinly built, college-aged black male with an afro, a white T-shirt and dark shorts. The man from the second robbery said the suspect was black or Hispanic.
