UNT Dallas names president finalist

The UNT Dallas Board of Regents has selected Ronald T. Brown as the sole finalist to replace current President John Price as the UNT Dallas President, who will step down in August.
Brown comes to UNT Dallas from Detroit, Mich., where he served as provost and senior vice president at Wayne State University since August 2010. He has also served as the dean of College of Health Professions and Social Work and the interim dean of the School of Dentistry at Temple University in Philadelphia, Penn.
Under state law, a university’s Board of Regents has to name a finalist at least 21 days before appointing a president.
“I am committed to building a great university that will provide access and excellence with an outstanding faculty,” said Brown in an annoucement. “The City of Dallas and the entire southern part of the metropolitan area need an educated workforce for economic development, and UNT Dallas will be a key part of our regional success.”
