With more than 450 student organizations to choose from on UNT’s campus, getting involved is the first step to setting yourself apart from other college students. The following is a comprehensive list of organizations to get involved in for specific career fields. Advocacy

-Counselors for Social Justice: Counselors for Social Justice is an organization focused on raising awareness for social justice issues.

-Future Without Poverty: Future Without Poverty aims to unite students in an effort to alleviate poverty sustainably.

-Social Work Student Association: The Social Work Student Association is a community of students who are devoted to promote social work as a profession.

Business

-Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity: Alpha Kappa Psi is the largest and oldest national business fraternity.

-American Marketing Association: The American Marketing Association serves students, educators and marketing practitioners by providing students with resources to be successful in the field.

-Beta Alpha Psi: Beta Alpha Psi is an international honor organization for financial information students and professionals.

-Financial Management Association: The Financial Management Association gives students an opportunity to join a network with finance professionals, practitioners and students worldwide.

-Institute for Supply Management: The Institute for Supply Management focuses on topics within the supply chain industry.

-ISACA/IMA/IIA Professional Accounting Student Society: The ISACA/IMA/IIA Professional Accounting Student Society gives students a chance to share and learn information within various types of accounting.

-Society for Human Resource Management: The Society for Human Resource Management builds industry leaders through networking, workshops and leadership opportunities.

-Student Investment Group: The Student Investment Group is a student-led organization that focuses on real-world financial investment education.

Computer Science

-Association for Computing Machinery: The Association for Computing Machinery exists to promote knowledge and communication for those interested in computing.

-Association for Information Science and Technology: The Association for Information Science and Technology connects students with field professionals to advance in their information science careers.

-Cyber Security Club: The Cyber Security Club trains and educates students interested in pursuing a career in cybersecurity.

Education

-Kappa Delta Pi International Education Honor Society: Kappa Delta Pi is an honor society dedicated to scholarship, excellence in education and connections within education majors.

-Talon Teach: Talon Teach gives future teachers a chance to network and form relationships with each other and the university.

Engineering

-American Society of Mechanical Engineers: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers is a society designed to prepare individuals to enter the field of mechanical engineering.

-Biomedical Engineering Society: The Biomedical Engineering Society allows individuals to build the industry and grow with one another.

-Engineers United: Engineers United aims to encourage collaboration between practicing engineers and engineering organizations.

-Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers: The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers fosters technological innovation and excellence for the greater good of humanity.

-Pi Tau Sigma International Mechanical Engineering Honor Society: Pi Tau Sigma is an honor society comprised of members chosen based on their engineering ability, scholarship, personality and probably future success in engineering.

-Society of Automotive Engineers: The Society of Automotive Engineers is comprised of UNT students interested in the automotive field of engineering. Within the organization is the UNT Mean Green Racing team, who designs and tests a small-scale race car.

Fashion Design and Merchandising

-The Fashion Society: The Fashion Society promotes common interest in the fashion industry among students through networking and fashion shows.

-Merchandising Incorporated: Merchandising Incorporated is open to students interested in fashion, home furnishings or electronic merchandising by helping students establish contacts within the industry.

Film/Theatre

Documentary Club: The Documentary Club works to build a community of documentary filmmakers through discussion and field experience.

-Drama Lab: Drama Lab is a student theatre organization that produces university-affiliated theatrical productions.

-Improv: Improv hosts improv comedy workshops and jam sessions weekly for students interested in watching or participating in improvised works.

-MusiComedies: MusiComedies is a student-run organization that puts on semesterly comedic musicals.

-Performance Interest Group: The Performance Interest Group is intended for students and faculty members interested in partaking in or evaluating performances.

-Short Film Club: The Short Film Club is a group of filmmakers who collaborate to release cinematic content.

Hospitality Management

-Eta Sigma Delta International Hospitality Management Honor Society: Eta Sigma Delta is an honor society that recognizes academic achievements in hospitality and tourism students.

-Hotel Association of Tarrant County: The Hotel Association of Tarrant County provides career and networking opportunities to students interested in going into the hotel industry.

Human Behavior

-Behavior Analysis Student and Alumni Association: The Behavior Analysis Student and Alumni Association enhances training of behavioral analysis students by teaching them more about the science and how it is being applied in society.

-Best Buddies: Best Buddies works with community members who have intellectual or developmental disabilities to form one-on-one friendships.

-Student Council for Exceptional Children: Student Council for Exceptional Children is an organization geared towards students interested in serving others with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Journalism

-Ad Club: The Ad Club helps students learn more about the field of advertising and discover careers offered within the industry.

-National Press Photographers Association: The National Press Photographers Association is a group comprised of photojournalism students to learn about the industry and network.

-North Texas Daily: The North Texas Daily is the UNT student-run newspaper that gives students an opportunity to have hands-on reporting experience.

-North Texas Review: The North Texas Review is an annual print publication that showcases written and visual content created by UNT students.

-North Texas Television: North Texas Television serves the Denton community and UNT student body by providing coverage on current events and giving students hands-on experience in broadcasting.

-Public Relations Student Society of America: The Public Relations Student Society of America provides information about the field of public relations to members through internship opportunities, guest speakers, socials and conferences.

-SWOOP Agency: SWOOP is a student-run advertising agency that allows students to get field experience.

Music

-Composers Forum of North Texas: The Composers Forum of North Texas is a student-run organization devoted to represent its members and increase visibility of student works.

-North Texas Music Educators Association: The North Texas Music Educators Association provides music education majors with resources to connect with their peers and community members in the industry.

-Student Society for Ethnomusicology: The Student Society for Ethnomusicology promotes an understanding of diverse music making in various cultures through education, service and performance.

-Eagle History Society: The Eagle History Society is a history club that gathers for movie nights, trivia nights, field trips, outings and other events all pertaining to history.

-Active Minds: Active Minds is an organization dedicated to advocating for mental health on campus and nation-wide.

-Psychology Advocates for Social Change: Psychology Advocates for Social Change is an organization devoted to social, psychological and physical welfare advocacy for all individuals.

-Psychology Student Association: The Psychology Student Association is a community for psychology majors to network and navigate the field.

-theLIFEproject: theLIFEproject is a program that advocates for mental health and wellness, especially in ethnic and minority groups.

Science/Pre-Med

-Alpha Chi Sigma Chemistry Fraternity: Alpha Chi Sigma is a professional fraternity focused on chemistry.

-Alpha Epsilon Delta Health Pre-Professional Honor Society: Alpha Epsilon Delta is dedicated to encouraging and recognizing excellence in pre-health students.
