Original Post:
Denton police found the body of a 21-year-old UNT student in her bed inside a Denton apartment Saturday morning.
Her roommate called Castle Rock apartment management around 11:30 a.m. after reportedly smelling a foul odor coming from the victim’s room, public information officer Shane Kizer said.
It was after opening her locked door that management found her dead. They proceeded to call the police, who arrived and declared a deceased person investigation.
Kizer said there were no immediate signs of injury, trauma or foul play in the room. He said she may have been in her room for three or four days and due to the nature of roommates being randomly assigned at that complex, roommates can often go days without seeing one another.
The death is currently under investigation, but the cause of death will not be known until an autopsy is conducted.
