Video: Students take cover from “golf ball-sized” hail storm, damage reported

A severe thunder storm passed over Denton in several waves on Thursday afternoon, resulting in a tornado watch, “golf-ball” sized hail and reports of damage on UNT campus.
With the tornado siren wailing in the distance, the watch in Denton county began about 5:50 p.m. and lasted until 6:27. Denton remains under a severe thunderstorm warning until 8 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. The area is also under a flash flood warnings until 9:15 tonight.
